Listening Deeply (foundation course)
New course videos complement the book. Listening is the foundation for inclusivity and for new opportunities to support more people. Having clear techniques for understanding a person’s interior cognition helps you consider how well you are helping people achieve their purpose.
Making mmSkylines Part 1: Concepts & Summaries
Powerful new course videos & materials. Bias spreads into your “insights” when you skip analysis of transcripts. Preserve the perspective of what people convey through two-step data synthesis. It’s clear, simple, and even has comics. Everyone can do it!
Making mmSkylines Part 2: Emergent Patterns
Unparalleled course reveals unbiased patterns. Typical affinity groups are based on nouns, sequence, observations, or research attributes. You can create a more representative understanding using people’s focus of mental attention. Your org will see clearer opportunities as a result. By the end of this course you will have an example mental model skyline.
Finding Thinking Styles (brand new course! 🎉)
Thinking styles are the archetypes behind all characters you use in scenarios or journey maps. Thinking styles are deeply researched; characters are imagined. Thinking Styles vary by people’s purpose, like various mindset hats people wear.
Frame Your Study (capstone course)
(archive version; get coaching) Once you have taken the earlier courses in this series, you will know enough to start a study of your own. This course will help you make careful choices. It starts with figuring out what knowledge your organization needs, the purpose your users have, and the framework for a study. In the end you will have a plan for recruiting, listening, and adjusting.

Workshopping
Workshopping is like extended team coaching sessions. Together, let’s go through something you might be facing. We’ll figure out how to use Data Science that Listens to help get things heading toward a future where outcomes improve.

Flexible timing. We can start with one 2-hour session. Or we can start with a whole day together, in-person. Then we can add workshopping time as needed until we solve the issue.
Certification
You will qualify for Certification in Data Science That Listens (also called Problem Space Research) if you fulfill both of the following requirements.
- You complete all 5 Self-paced Courses (60-70 hours of short videos plus quizzes & exercises)
- You actively participate during the Practice Group meetings for each of the 5 courses. (Your attendance might be subject to real life schedule disruptions, so there’s some flexibility built in.)
This is how Indi has a chance to assess your level of understanding.
A Practice Group for a different course is offered every few months, so getting Certification takes more than a year. If you need to get through all 6 courses and be certified within a year, you can schedule a Certification Call with Indi for each course that did not appear as a Practice Group that year.
Upon Certification, your name will be added to the list of graduates, and you will be able to add a credential to your LinkedIn or Xing profile. There is also a printable, signed PDF certificate available.
If you have completed less than all 5 courses, YAY! To show people what you accomplished, you are free to list the courses you completed on your LinkedIn profile. But there is no “certification” from Indi for individual courses.
