Guide your team with experienced leaders

The first time you conduct research into the problem space, the way is not always clear. Strategic research is different than UX research about solutions and solution ideas. Sometimes this calls for a guide.

Many people in our community have decades of problem space experience, in multiple fields, both for- and non-profit. Any one of us can mentor your team through every, or any, step. Your team can focus on the work while your guide takes care of the direction and planning details.

Hire us to create your Mental Model Skyline & Thinking Styles

Since 2001, Indi and her team of certified experts been doing problem space research for clients. We have completed over 60 different studies, some of them multi-national. We listen to your needs, explore your current knowledge, and frame an effective problem space study.

At the end of the study, we’ll deliver a mental model skyline for metrics, and thinking styles that help you understand the people you want to reach. Then we’ll help you identify immediate next steps and long-term strategies for innovation and market growth.

Just the Thinking Styles, please

There are contexts when Thinking Styles are enough to help your team. You may not need the mental model skyline in every situation.

Indi and her team can do the research needed to see the patterns that form thinking styles. Your team is invited to participate in the working sessions, so that you are well-immersed in the thinking, emotion, and personal rules that go into each of these archetypes.

Too much data and too little time?

Don’t let past transcripts go to waste. Our experienced problem space researchers can do the hard work of finding the patterns in your interviews and listening sessions.

Most transcripts offer at least some data points we can use in this method. Whether an interview produces 4 or 104, every data point counts! We can turn your backlog of transcripts into a mental model skyline or thinking styles.

Testimonials

  • Indi is great at reminding me what’s important and how to work from the bottom up to synthesize problem space patterns instead of using my biases to fit things into categories from the top down.

  • One of the hardest parts of research is selling how important it is. Indi’s emphasis on collaboration rather than persuasion helped us convey how the research would help them achieve their goals.

Indi takes the time to hear everyone out on my qualitative research team, clears up confusion, and makes a clear explanation of next steps.

  • I went to Indi for coaching on how to explain to my boss how problem space research can help in a large enterprise organization. We’re constantly in sprints and can’t do deep problem space research.

Indi helped me adapt our sprints and show my internal clients that underlying thinking, emotions, and guiding principles are what matter most in enduring research. These internal clients are surprised and happy with the results.
